Resurfacing: Micro Topping

Typical Surfaces: Interior floors, basements, retail, restaurants. Residential and commercial.
Micro Toppings are used mostly over floors that have had damage or work done on them, creating a fresh surface to stain. These are cost effective ways to cover the floor and make it decorative at the same time. The new finish can be smooth or have an orange peel texture depending on your needs.
For a smooth surface, we apply two base coats by hand, and then trowel a third thin coat to create a very smooth surface. The layered coatings create a feathered look to the concrete that can really pop when it is stained and finished with a urethane.
For a different finish we spray the micro topping material, creating a rippled "orange peel" texture with a more uniform look to the floor. The finish can also be stained to create a mottled finish to complement the space it is used in.
Micro topping surfaces can be made even more decorative with patterned scoring.
As with all of our decorative concrete finishes, proper preparation of the existing concrete is the key to a successful job. The concrete will be ground, then thoroughly cleaned before the finish work begins. If yours is a new project we can provide some helpful hints that will help to make the finished stained floors more even in appearance.
